This is a glossary of common and perhaps not so common terms relating to our products, we hope you find this useful.
Belt System
System consisting of a crutch belt, a lap belt and a shoulder belt or belts passing over the shoulders and between the legs of the child. Most pushchairs from the Hauck group are available with a tried and tested 5-point safety belt.
Carrycot
A unit with all round vertical sides and a base for transporting a small child lying down.
Convertible Pushchair
Pushchair providing two options – carrycot converts to seat and vice versa.
Crutch Strap
Belt used in combination with the lap belt and passed between the child’s legs to prevent the child from sliding forwards out of the pushchair.
Frame
Frame on wheels with extended handlebar or handlebars and steering elements, intended for supporting and transporting a pushchair seat or seats or carrycot or carrycots or similar.
Frame Lock
A device to prevent the frame being folded unintentionally.
Handbrake
Device for keeping the pushchair stationary.
Highchair
A chair intended for making it possible for a small child, depending on its stage of development, to remain in a seated position without assistance. The chair can be fitted with a tray for feeding, eating or playing. The chair is designed to stand on the floor and position the child at around dining table height.
Lap Belt
Belt, which fastens round the child’s lap.
Pushchair
Pushchair, consisting of a wheeled frame plus one or more carrycots/seats.
Reachable Zone
The area immediately around to the child/children and for which more stringent safety requirements are specified.
Restrainer System
System for keeping the child in the pushchair.
Safety Harness
Additional safety feature consisting of lap belt and other belts.
Seat
Seating unit, sometimes able to be dropped back or brought down to a lying position, and which is intended to accommodate one or more children.
Shopping Basket
Facility for carrying additional loads. This term also covers shopping trays and bags. The exceptions are small fabric pockets applied to various elements.
Sports Pushchair
A pushchair consisting of a wheeled frame plus one or more seating modules.
Travel System
Versatile multi-purpose pushchair system with frame able to accommodate a carrycot, a seat, a (further) seat or similar.
